Aurora Wings - Monochrome challenge

This is the new Auroral Wings Monochrome challenge and chose this Warrior with his pack of Wolves stunning  image.
I coloured it with Copics and added some Aleene's Glitter snow on parts and Glossy Accents along the icicles. I didn't think it would suit too much embellishing so I just added some black twine and black beads.
Now this is off to my Grandson who is working in Israel at the moment I just hope he likes it!!!

I added some Lawn Fawn Sequins To The Woods as the only decorations.

Di's BIO:  {I have been drawing since a child and studied graphics at College many years ago, I now work as a Medical photographer part time but my love was always drawing. I started cardmaking about 4yrs ago when I bought my daughter a cardmaking kit which we did together, but I’m afraid I got the bug! My daughter preferred scrapbooking. I then started looking online at other blogs and this then became my passion and I loved sharing my cards with like-minded people.  I love stamping and loved finding images, but sometimes I could not find what I wanted so I started to draw myself. This then has become my second addiction and I have never looked back, I love thinking of new images, and its just fabulous to see others take them and make them into beautiful works of art. Long may it continue! }

It's time for a new LAOSM challenge and our theme is

Lots Of Layers

and we are sponsored by

Lifelong crafters Mother and Daughter, Mary and Andrea were tired of having to buy full rolls of ribbon and lace when they only needed one metre.  Because they love ribbons and all things pretty, they decided to open their own online shop in 2010 and make small quantities of beautiful products easily available to all crafters. Mary owns the shop and runs it on a day to day basis as well as keeping the website updated while Andrea looks after the social side,  The Ribbon Girl Blog and the Design Team. They specialise in supplying small (or large) quantities of ribbon, twine, gorgeous vintage style lace and seam binding ribbon, tiny pom-pom and ric-rac trim, all sorts of buttons, fancy pins, a multitude of charms, pearl and crystal flourishes, wool felt squares, seasonal and unusual embellishments, mulberry flowers, sticky tape and accessories to card makers, crafters, scrapbookers and cake decorators. They stock only the best quality products and only offer for sale goods that they would personally buy and use themselves.

I didn't manage to upload my card in time for the challenge - why!!! My camera's editing programme sent haywire and had a 'hissy fit' - O don't know what that happened but it seems to have recovered!!!
Right from the start this card has been a problem - I don't like yellow - I don't get on with it so I decided to push my boundaries and try - first mistake!!! The cardstock is Bazzille - Bittermint which is gorgeous but the cute image is coloured with Copics put shouts at you since. The papers are Pink Paislee - that also is gorgeous - just the image - I think I shall lift it out and replace it with something else - maybe - or just bin it !!!
I make it so I will publish it I hope your eyes aren't a hurt as much as mine are.

Alice in Wonderland for Make it Crafty !!

I started with the Make it Colourful but it sat on my desk for about two weeks. Whilst I was stamping my sentiment my Stamp Press collapsed and dropped into my card and ruined it - I manage to put a sentiment panel on the top of it but I wasn't happy.
The challenge is 'Using on non-white cardstock'
I used on a type of kraft paper - I know exactly what it is, all I can say it is paler than the usual Kraft cardstock and a little thinner.
I used Alice in Wonderland's Curious Alice and added her with the Whimsical flowers. I used Copics to start but added some of the finer details with Prismas.
I left the cards as CAS as I would like (intend!!) to use many of the Alice in Wonderland characters and build it into a book for a small boy - though he could be grown up by the time I've finished!!

Simon Says..........Clean & Simple

wed-newchallenge-header

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

This week the challenge is ,,,,,,,,

 KEEP IT CLEAN AND SIMPLE

with the optional extra to use one layer
We are showcasing Hero Arts Products  this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store
50dollar_voucher_600px

I thought it was time to use the beautiful Hero Arts Delicate Blossoms image. I wanted to give it a soft, almost ethereal feel so I stamped the image on with Vellum with ColorBox Frost White ink and  Zing White Embossing Powder. I used Copics to colour the image with Vellum  from it's back - this gives it a more even finish but has to used stronger/darker colours.
I had no narrow pink ribbon to cover the edge of the vellum so I added some  Hemptique White Twine and twisted it and coloured with Copics. I cut a border with a  Martha Stewart Double Loop punch  and added some Hero Arts Pink Pearls.

Materials and Tools
Stamps:  Hero Arts Delicate Blossoms
Medium: Memento Tuxedo BlackCopics,  ColorBox Frost White
Papers: Simon Says Stamp White Card StockSimon Says Stamp Cardstock Cotton Candy and Audrey Blue, Bazzille Vellumm
Punches:  Martha Stewart Double Loop punch around the page
Accessories:  Zing White Embossing Powder, Hemptique White Twine, Hero Arts Pink Pearls
Sentiment: Hero Arts Clear Stamps Say It All
Tools: Martha Stewart Scoring Board, Tonic Studio Guillotine/Paper Trimmer, Fiskars - Stamp Press, Tombow Multi-Liquid Glue, Scotch ATG Advanced Tape Glider, EK Success Cutter

There are two images in this set - which one should I use - OK might as well do both!!!
The second one I decided to use in blue and I stamped on the cardstock and coloured with Copics. I intended to use a one layer, when I looked at it it screamed out for a narrow border so I cut the image added the blue border (Simon Says Cardstock  Audrey Blue) and added it onto a card. The sentiment is Hero Arts Clear Stamps Say It All and some Hero Arts Clear Gemstones
